Working toward getting a fighting chance in Congress after 2010
February 26,
2009
38 Days and Counting and the Cost is Going Up.
The spending is not going to stop. Now or in the future if
Obamanation has his way.
The first Obamanation stimulus was what, $787 billion? Then $75
billion for mortgage bailout for losers. Today the House passed $410
billion for the "omnibus" program (complete with pork) and there is a $634 billion proposal for
National Health Care.
I had to pull up
Excel to add this up but it totals $1.9 trillion...
Today Obamanation set forth
a synopsis of his 2009 fiscal budget. It's staggering.
In 2009, federal spending will approach $4 trillion, or 28 percent of
gross domestic product (GDP) – a one-third increase in the size of
government in a single year.
Here is how
the Republicans responded quickly.
The bottom line in this is that they will tax the "rich" and tax businesses.
How nuts is this?
This past Christmas season, FAO Schwartz, Saks 5th, Bloomies and other
upscale stores in New York and other affluent areas had sales that fell off
from last year. These are stores frequented by the affluent. If
they weren't spending then, they sure won't spend when they are looking
forward to being taxed almost 5% more, have Bushes tax cuts eliminated to
make their tax burdens higher, and have their deductions eliminated or
reduced. And have seen their investments drop like a rock due to
Democrat policies of issuing mortgages to unworthy real estate buyers and
the Street's reaction to Obama's economic and socialist proposals.
It's so necessary now to make people listen, to show them there are two
sides to Obama's coin -- and that's all he's offering. Chump change in
the end. And the Chumps will buy it. I'm not!!! And
neither should you. Get the sword out.

We have proof of global warming!
Michelle Obama wore a sleeveless dress last night --
at the end of
February in Washington, DC!
And I bet
the little girl got a brand new dress to complement
Michelle's!
The One was so anxious to hear himself speak to
his adoring followers he
didn't wait for San Fran Nan
to introduce him. Not the first protocol
error he has
made on camera.
The speech
brought no surprises. Just another campaign
speech to sell the
people on
his plan to spend us into
oblivion loaded with lies and false promises too
numerous
to mention, but here are a few:
He started off saying he was going to speak frankly and
directly. Lie
number one.
He then stated, "I'm not interested in more government" Lie number
two.
He said the "surplus" left by Bill Clinton was passed along to the wealthy.
Huh?
He said his “administration has inherited a $1.3 trillion deficit” for
fiscal 2009. Wrong! The fiscal 2008 deficit actually ended
up being $454.8 billion, according to the Congressional Budget Office.
So where did the other $845.2 billion come from? How about
a $700
billion bailout of the banking industry, required primarily due to the
Democrat forced Community Redevelopment Act, and that part of the $787
billion “stimulus” President Obama signed last week that will actually be
spent in this fiscal year.
Obamanation’s promise to “cut the deficit we inherited in half” means he
will reduce it from $1.3 trillion in fiscal 2009 to $533 billion in fiscal
2013. Yet this is larger than any deficit the President Bush
ran before this recessionary year.
In fact, Obamanation’s planned $533 billion deficit for fiscal 2013 is more
than twice as large as the $248.1 billion deficit Bush ran in 2006 and more
than three times as large as the $162 billion deficit Bush ran in 2007.
Obamanation said there will be $2 trillion in savings over the next decade
but did he not recently promise to add more than $2 trillion to the national
debt over the next four years to implement his socialist plans?
And then there is the earmark reform he promised in September: ""We need
earmark reform and when I'm president, I will go line by line to make sure
that we are not spending money unwisely."
He repeated that "line by line" line last night and stated there were no
earmarks in porkulus, another lie. And the $415B omnibus
spending bill due from Congress soon
Lastly, I was concerned that there was so little said about National
Security. What message does that send to our enemies?
It was a good thing there were so many standing o's last night. About
10 minutes into the speech Hillary's eyes were closing but she was saved by
one of the standing o's.
And, as usual, Nan was sucking her teeth.
I think the Republican Party may be "getting it."
As I wrote on February 21, I think Michael Steele's initiatives will be
good. He's started off by taking a page out of the
Democrat playbook. Pick a topic and keep on it.
As pointed out in Steele's fund raising letter, the Republican Party failed
us. Last night, Gov. Bobby Jindal of LA said,
"In recent years, these distinctions in philosophy became less clear —
because our party got away from its principles. You elected Republicans to
champion limited government, fiscal discipline, and personal responsibility.
Instead, Republicans went along with earmarks and big government spending in
Washington. Republicans lost your trust — and rightly so.
Tonight, on behalf of our leaders in Congress and my fellow Republican
governors, I say: Our party is determined to regain your trust. We will do
so by standing up for the principles that we share — the principles you
elected us to fight for — the principles that built this into the greatest,
most prosperous country on earth."
While Jindal's message was good, he could not possibly have done anything to
counter the production The One put on in Congress last night. Of
course, the liberal media
Yep, I feel hope!
Obama less popular than Bush after first month.
It appears the adulation for The One is waning. According to a
Gallup poll, after his first month at POTUS, Obamanation's approval rating
is 59%, whereas GW's was 62%. Obmanation's disapproval rating almost
doubled from 13% to 25%.
See the poll.

POTUS (Posterior of the United States) will speak tonight and there's no
getting away from it. He probably planned the timing so his base, who
probably will tune in to see Idol, will actually have to listen to what he
has to say.
His demeanor tonight is described as going to be
"Reaganesque." I'm puzzled! This guy is as far left
as you can go yet he keeps trying to liken himself to
Republican presidents of the past.
Lincoln didn't stick
so now he's trying Reagan.
The Main Street Media will be fawning all over him.
In fact they were, at 3:22 PM which is when Jennifer
Loven -- who some on the Left consider quite Right -- filed
this about tonight's address.
Well, I'm afraid I will be too dysfunctional after hearing POTUS speak
tonight to write any more.
So here are a couple of good tidbits.
Media Malpractice -- How Obama Was Elected and Palin Was Targeted
Filmmaker John Ziegler's
documentary about media bias during the 2008 election and the vicious and
untrue attacks on Gov. Sarah Palin is all the buzz on conservative TV and
radio. Visit
HowObamaGotElected.com to see some of his interview with Gov. Palin.
AOL has torn this documentary to shreds but, interestingly enough, also
posted a poll asking if the media got Obama elected. Of tens of
thousands of respondents, 81.3% said yes.
Also take a look at his interviews of 12 Obamanation voters on Election Day.
You'll also enjoy Shock Jock Howard Stern's report on interviews his
sidekick Sal had
with Obama supporters in Harlem back in October.
Unfortunately, Obamanation knows whatever he says will be championed by his
base, who you see above.
February 23, 2009
Call me a whimp, but I had to take a day off yesterday! When I saw
the headlines Sunday morning about Obamanation's plan to submit a budget to
Tax the Rich, Tax Business (and, incidentally, Reduce Our Defense and
Intelligence -- that's coming big time) I wanted to pound sand. So
instead I dug in the dirt and planted some vegetation to replace what had
gotten frosted recently.
I'm frosted, for sure, but it is not weather related. Obamanation is
taking us back in history, and to not very good times.
Today, "Wall Street looks like it did in 1997 with investors unable to
shed their worries about a recession that has no end in sight dumping stocks
again" according to the AP.
Ummmm, 1997...a recession...the Clinton administration's fourth year.
George W. Bush didn't complain about what he inherited three years later in
2000 and the Dems, to this day, applaud the fact that Clinton left a
surplus. Of course he did, he cut the military and defense budgets by
half within a short time after being elected and did absolutely nothing to
combat terrorism, resulting (according to the 9/11 Commission Report) in the
terrorist attacks on New York City, the Pentagon in Washington, DC, and the
aborted attack on the Capital thanks to brave souls on Flight 93. And
he pushed through a large tax increase in his first year in office.
Another factor was attributable to Ronald Reagan, the booming economy and
huge gains in the stock markets during much of Clinton's administration.
I think the families of those who died on the Cole, in the Towers, and
all those others who lost loved ones to terrorism deserve better.
Obamanation on one day announces a surge in troops to Afghanistan then says
he'll reduce the deficit (which will have been inflated greatly by his CRAP)
by reducing spending for our efforts in Iraq and Afghanistan.
Go figure.

Obama Bailout Will Reduce Principal Owed on Some Mortgages
OK, I pay my mortgage already. I've paid my mortgages for decades. How come I don't get $1,000 a year?

February 21, 2009
Michael Steele, RNC Chair, Tells It Like It Is.
From a recent fund raising letter I received:
"Barack Obama and his allies hold power because Republicans in Washington
failed you. They failed you on bailouts, spending, immigration and so
much more.
The Party is a mess because insiders turned deaf ears to you and the
millions like you who share our beliefs. The Party drifted too far
from what you expected -- Republicans did not listen, spent like out of
control liberals -- and voters made them pay for their mistakes in 2006 and
2008.
Now the Party must earn back your trust.
What we must do is not rocket science. Americans expect
Republicans to cut taxes, create jobs, defend this nation, put strong judges
in our courts, shrink Washington's power and let individuals run their own
lives.
I am planning to give you what you expect.
Your Party is OPEN for business and I am cleaning house.
We are committed to recruiting and electing candidates who actually mean
it when they say they believe in shrinking government and making sure power
stays in the hands of individuals.
What we must do to stop the Obama crowd is to bring voters back to the
Party of Lincoln and Reagan -- and this means Republicans must STOP voting
like Pelosi and Reid.
We simply must not fail in coming back together to rebuild our
Republican Party. We cannot afford to let the radical Democrats gain
any more ground in the battle to "reinvent" America."
Visit the RNC website and see the great
initiatives being taken by Michael Steele. Then get involved.
The Natives Are
Restless and With Good Reason.
Update.
More CRAP protests are planned for
Chicago,
Dallas,
DC,
Fayetteville, NC, San Diego, CA, Omaha, NE
and Atlanta
next Friday.
This is what my hope is. We need to
make our
voices heard. I believe we can and should.
Obamanation was elected because of his communication
skills. Let's hone ours!

It's only been a week and I'm exhausted from dealing with CRAP, the
mortgage fiasco, the tax dodging treasury secretary and, of course, Obamanation as he continues on the campaign trail.
Should I go visit the
happy cows in
California?
Benedict
Arlen Greeted With Jeers at Cranberry Township Press Conference
Good for Pennsylvania conservative voters!

U.S. Sen.
(Benedict) Arlen Specter was greeted with jeers
at a
press conference in
Cranberry Township. Conserva-
tives
let him have it after Specter cast
the deciding vote
that
led to the passage of Obamanation’s stimulus plan.
He says he’s not happy with Obama’s plans but he
points out that "he" was
able to cut the price tag by
over $100 billion and that "he" was able to
increase
the amount of tax cuts.
Even so, Specter acknowledges the Republican Party’s conservative wing will
attempt to unseat him in next year’s primary race. You bet, and that's
why we're here!
KA-CHING! Save your pennies!
What else you need to be afraid of.
Update#2.
Rush Limbaugh
threw down the gauntlet today.
Will his questions be answered? Don't hold your
breath!
CRAP is
working!
It's only been a week and already CRAP is working to help the economy:

Ah, mi chiwuawua!
