Yes, I feel hope!

The other day my husband (my one and only) told me son #2 had told him, “Arlen Specter is nothing but a RINO (Republican In Name Only). When he comes up for reelection, I’ll donate to any Republican who runs against him.” Did I mention we live in Florida, not Pennsylvania?

I got to thinking of the millions and millions of dollars Barack Obama, hereinafter referred to as The Obamanation, raised in dribs and drabs. #2 son has a brilliant idea!

Thus, the birth of Defeat the RINOs.com…my little grass roots attempt to influence future elections to ensure all conservatives and Republicans are fairly represented in Congress after the 2010 elections.

My husband and I are Christians by faith, although we are of different faiths so do not attend church on a regular basis. Somehow a passage from the King James Bible, Joel 3.10 came to mind: “Beat your plowshares into swords and your pruning hooks into spears: let the weak say, I am strong.

No, don’t get me wrong. As a child of the 60s, I do believe in “make love not war” – unless it is necessary. And now is not the time to debate Iraq or Viet Nam or any other war. It’s time to think about swords. We all have one, for is it not said, “the pen is mightier than the sword?” And I believe, when referring to women, it has been said “the tongue is mightier than the sword.” We need to sharpen our swords, now!

We have about 21 months before the elections to decide who will be in Congress for the 112th session. And we must insure the RINOs are gone -- and none elected – and defeat Democrats. We need to rally to support the primary races of deserving candidates, and those who would oppose the current Senators and Representatives who are not supporting conservative and Republican values.

Let’s start with Arlen Specter, Olympia Snow and Susan Collins.

All three voted, without even reading the revised Act once it came out of committee, or the original Act for that matter, for the Porkulous bill. Of course, the Republicans were frozen out of the committee.

Then let’s move on to Charlie Crist from Florida, who is rumored to want to seek Sen. Mel Martinez’s seat as Martinez retires. You should have seen him fawning all over Obamanation at the Fort Myers Town Hall meeting in early February.

We have a lot of moving on to do! There are plenty more. See a complete list of senators up for re-election in 2010 or who are retiring and their seats will be up for filling. All 435 seats of the House of Representatives will be up for election or reelection. Let Defeat the RINOs know of those RINOs who deserve to be voted out of office

In the days, weeks and months to come, let us have hope! And let us take action. I do not seek to raise money for myself or via this website. Only to keep information flowing so you all can make informed decisions. But if you put a penny into a jar every day until the primaries begin, you will have enough to make a difference.
